PAUL JONES (COUNTY COMPETITIONS SECRETARY)

An Update from the President.

As you will all note from the message above from Paul, Alan, Paul and myself have been investigating ways in which we can look into the future and try and plan for this season. Alan will be contacting all the clubs to ascertain their plans for the season. We need to know which clubs will be taking part in any competitions that we can organise and in some cases, how many teams the club can put out. We hope to be able to have an executive meeting at the end of March, and by then all executive members will have in their possession the wide variety of formats that we might be looking to use this season and to able to discuss them with their members. The phrase 'we have always organised this way' has to be consigned to the history books. Being President has been a very frustrating experience but I think we must all accept that, for the foreseeable future, the games of bowls will have to look at new and creative ways to organise its competitions. The safety and well being of all our members is the most important factor to take into consideration, and until everyone has received their two vaccinations, we must accept that social distancing on the green is essential. All the necessary Covid precautions must be kept in place for this season. I really do hope that we can have some bowling this season and that by next year we are able to operate under more 'normal' circumstances. I wish you all well and look forward to meeting up with you on the green some time soon.

Mike Beloe (President)
